I'm currently doing all my guitar amp modeling with a Kemper Amp Profiler. IMHO.Yeah, I don't like that kind of thing either, but still, it's got me thinking. If plugin X no longer works for you, too bad - you cannot sell it on to buy plugin Y.
You can only sell your interface including all of its plugins. The #1 downside (plastered all over the UAD forums by owners who have just realised) is that you can't sell your plugins. I was as surprised by the UAD system as the OP. I'm a recent convert to the UAD system (Apollo Twin Duo), and I like it very much, but. You pay for what you get for, and the UA stuff is superb. Is it true that the Apollo interfaces don’t allow for CC manipulation of parameters? I’ve got a friend who’s looking for an analog volume pedal because he said his UAD amp sim doesn’t let him control it via MIDI. You pay for what you get for, and the UA stuff is superb.ĭespite there being a lot of 'expensive dongle' type comments, I think that's absolute crap.
It's scarily good.ĭespite there being a lot of 'expensive dongle' type comments, I think that's absolute crap. Oh, the AKG Spring Reverb is well worth a mention as well. You may think of mic preamps, but I've got my Moog Sub 37 and modular running through Unison preamps modelling the Neve preamp/EQ, and it just does something special to the sound. This is brought about in part by the Unison pre-amp modelling, which is worth reading up on if you're unaware. He has NEVER done that - he's purely a hardware guy, but for the first time he confessed he thought they'd got it perfect. When he hit a heavy chord, the way the sound broke up in response to his playing made him stop and look at me. He visited me a while back and plugged into the Fender plug-in. He hates Guitar Rig, Amplitube - you name it, he hates it. My guitarist mate has always moaned about amp modelling ever since the original Line 6 Pods came out.
SWEETWATER 3 FREE UAD PLUGINS DRIVERS
The drivers are rock solid, it works, it's not complicated to set up, the sound is utterly superb, and some of the plug-ins are the best I own. as oppose to my home electronic music set up.Ī month later, and I picked up an Apollo 8 Duo along with a host of their plugs to replace my current sound card. I recently bought an Apollo Twin to do more mobile recording band-stuff etc.
